WYOMING – YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Midway Geyser Basin

Notes: If you picture the primary roads in Yellowstone as a figure eight, Midway Geyser Basin is on the west side of the lower loop, about five miles north of the Old Faithful area. Along the boardwalks at Midway, you can gaze into the steamy turquoise waters of Excelsior Geyser Crater. You can also walk along the edge of the largest thermal feature in Yellowstone: Grand Prismatic Spring (about 370 feet in diameter). This remarkable natural phenomenon displays an incredible spectrum of extraordinarily vivid colors. An admission fee or appropriate pass is required for admission to Yellowstone.
