Resemblance

Recently, I was told by someone that I reminded her of my mom. Have you ever been told that you resemble . . . a relative, a friend, some famous person? Look at the photograph below from Arches National Park in Utah:

The Three Gossips - Arches National Park, Utah

The official name of this formation is “The Three Gossips” because of its resemblance to three figures standing around. However, I think it looks more like “The Three Magi.” So that’s how I think of it.

In John 21:2 (also in John 11:16 and John 20:24), there is a reference to one of the disciples, Thomas, who was nicknamed “the Twin”. On occasion, I’ve wondered who did this guy resemble? Another disciple? A brother? Hopefully, not a rock formation.

When an individual told me I reminded her of my mom, it had to do with my appearance. There is another resemblance, however, that is even more important than who I look like: it is who I act and speak like. And I want my resemblance there to be like Jesus Christ.
