Norman’s Journey
My faith journey began when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord at a Royal Ambassador camp when I was 10 years old and was baptized a short time later.
The Bible tells us about the faith journeys of lots of folks. Acts chapter 9 tells about the beginning of Saul’s journey of faith on the Damascus Road. I can relate to the overwhelming amount of grace imparted to Saul, a former persecutor of Christians, on that occasion. However, the person in that story I most identify with is Ananias, an unassuming believer who tried to be obedient to what God called him to do. That is until God asked Ananias to do something outside his comfort zone; which prompted Ananias to ask God, “You want me to do what?” I, too, have been guilty of hesitation and reluctance in responding to God’s call – more than once.
After many years of traveling and photographing the wonders and majesty of God’s creation, I felt God calling me to use Nature Photography as a way to share thoughts and ideas about the life of faith. This time, though, I responded, “With Your help, Lord, I’ll do it.” The result is the LightJourneys website, which I could neither have developed nor maintained without the invaluable help of my wife and best friend, Jean.
I also acknowledge that any ability I have at working outdoors with a camera or putting words together comes from God. And, for this, I give all the glory and honor to Him.
