Miracles
Every day a million miracles begin at sunrise.
– Eric Jerome Dickey
At the beginning of each day and before the next sunrise:
My heart will beat about 103,680 times;
I will breathe in and out more than 20,000 times;
I will blink my eyes about 15,000 times;
I will see in three dimensions, in “ living color; ”
I will be able to walk, think, and speak.
All of these things occur without me really giving them much thought.
But I probably should do more than just give them a passing thought. These (and other) easy-to-take-for-granted aspects of my life should regularly be a part of the blessings I thank God for.
It’s easy to miss the miracles . . . taking place right before our eyes.
But when we look attentively, we see blessings budding all around us

O my soul, bless God,
don’t forget a single blessing!
