FLORIDA – ST. AUGUSTINE – Alligator Farm Zoological Park
Notes: A tourist attraction for more than a century, Alligator Farm Zoological Park has every living species of crocodilian. But there is an even more compelling reason to visit this place: every year between March and early June, scores of wild herons, egrets, wood storks, and roseate spoonbills come to this spot to mate, build nests, lay eggs and fledge young. A wooden boardwalk allows up-close-and-personal views of these activities that I’ve not experienced anywhere else. While not absolutely necessary, a zoom telephoto lens will provide the greatest flexibility in shooting. An admission fee is charged. There is no charge for parking.
