COLORADO – ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – Hidden Valley Area

Photo Experience:   The Hidden Valley area is located approximately 7 miles west-northwest of Estes Park. The photo ops I found were not in Hidden Valley proper, but along Trail Ridge Road, just above and below the short spur road into this former ski area. Above the spur road, the views of aspens across the road on the adjacent ridge were quite scenic. Below the spur road, I found opportunities for closer shots of aspen leaves and bark.

Other Info:   Note: Trail Ridge Road is a very heavily traveled byway. Exercise extreme caution working along the roadside and crossing the road. Flush toilets are available in the building at the end of the short road into Hidden Valley. An admission fee, or appropriate federal pass, is required for entrance into the park. Nearest motel accommodations are in Estes Park.
