UTAH – CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK
Notes: Towering cliffs and panoramic vistas make this place well worth a visit. Colorful autumn foliage and pleasant temperatures make coming here in the fall a capital idea. There are lots of sights to see along Utah 24, including Twin Rocks, Chimney Rock, Panorama Point, and The Castle. The Scenic Drive, a south-north paved road, lives up to its name. Visiting the Cathedral Valley section of the park requires a high clearance/4WD vehicle. But this day-long, 59-mile adventurous trek contains wonders not visible in other sections of Capitol Reef. An admission fee or appropriate federal pass is required to access the Scenic Drive beyond the Fruita Campground.
