MICHIGAN – PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS WILDERNESS STATE PARK

Photo Experience:   To conclude a fall trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, my wife and I spent most of a day in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, which is located in the westernmost portion of the UP. In spite of the connotation the name might give, we were impressed with the accessibility of many areas of the park. The terrain varied from one of the highest points in the state, to a scenic lake, to impressive waterfalls, to lakeshore. We found “The Porkies” to be one of the nicest state parks we’ve ever visited.
