TENNESSEE – GREAT SMOKY MTNS NATIONAL PARK – Cove Hardwoods Nature Trail

April 2015

Photo Experience:   During the second half of April, the Cove Hardwoods Nature Trail is a great spring wildflower location. I’ve almost always found it to be a treasure trove of trillium (pardon the alliteration). While there are a few landscape opportunities along this paved but up-and-down trail, I’ve had the most success in this area with close-ups. That being the case, I’ve also found a diffusion disc to be handy to have here (okay, that’s the last alliteration, at least for this entry).

Other Info:   To get there: The trailhead is located on the right just as you enter the Chimneys Picnic Area, about five miles south of Sugarlands Visitor Center on US 441. There are restrooms and nice picnic opportunities at Chimneys Picnic Area.
