Location: NC – PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST – Looking Glass Falls
Directions: From the junction of US 276 and US 64 near Brevard, drive 5.5 miles to the parking area on the right. Take the steps down to the falls.
Date of Visit: Early May 2013
Conditions: Overcast
Time of day: Late morning
Photography: Above average rainfall contributed to the abundance of water and being there during the middle of the week during the school year contributed to the scarcity of people during my visit. The vertical shot is from the base of the stairs. The horizontal image is from the viewing platform at the base of the falls.
Date of Visit: Mid September 2012
Conditions: Mostly cloudy
Time of day: Mid afternoon
Photography: During a short visit here, I looked for a different perspective at this popular roadside stop that would enable me to exclude the scads of people that were there. I found some Goldenrod (left) and Turtleheads (right) to include in the images that also added some badly-needed color to this mostly gray-and-white location.
